(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County Public Health will be taking over the public health department in Adair County. Health Services Director Jotham Arbor reported to the Guthrie County Supervisors meeting on Tuesday that the agreement would be similar to the one they have with Audubon County and submitted a proposal
Arbor says it would be a year by year agreement and he says he does not plan on adding any more staff
Arbor says they primarily would do a community health assessment for Adair County which is due this year; they would provide immunizations, emergency preparedness, and grant administration.
Arbor says the goal of Adair County is to have the agreement in place by July 1. The Supervisors did not make an immediate decision — needing time to consider the proposal.
