(Lincoln, NE) – Nebraska’s Sam Hoiberg was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The award recognizes some of the top athletes in the country for their work both on the court and in the classroom. To be recognized for the award, you must have a 3.5 GPA and play in at least 50% of the games in a season.
Hoiberg was a crucial player on the bench this season for Nebraska, averaging 3.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, and just shy of a steal per game (0.9). He played in all 34 games this season for the Huskers while sitting second on the team in steals and fourth in assists with a 2.46 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio. While seeing success on the court, Hoiberg also had success in the classroom. He had a 3.64 GPA in Sports Media and Communications and is a four-time member of the Nebraska Student-Athlete Honor Roll.
The sophomore earned his career-high in rebounds against South Carolina State and had a season-high 15 points against Lindenwood.
