(Ames, IA) – Iowa State’s Hannah Belanger may be finishing off her college career with the Cyclones, but that doesn’t mean that the awards and honors stop for the graduate student. Belanger has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The award recognizes some of the top athletes in the country for their work both on the court and in the classroom. To be recognized for the award, you must have a 3.5 GPA and play in at least 50% of the games in a season.
Hannah jumped on to join Iowa State in her final year of eligibility after playing for four years at Truman State. She made an immediate impact on the hardwood for ISU, playing in all 33 games and starting in 32 of those 33 games. The Wisconsin native knocked down a team-high 74 shots from downtown while shooting 39% from beyond the arc which ranked second in the Big XII. Belanger also averaged 9.3 points per game while dishing out 70 assists.
Belanger will be graduating from Iowa State this spring and will look to attend PA school following her graduation from ISU.
