(Omaha/Valley) The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Pottawattamie, and Shelby Counties from this afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
Forecasters say excessive runoff may flood rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may also occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Recent thunderstorm activity saturated the soil. Additional rainfall, which could be heavy at times, may lead to flooding in urban and low-lying areas.
Residents should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
