(Des Moines) Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative, Zach Nunn, has recently announced the commencement of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition.
This annual competition for high school students is organized by the U.S. House of Representatives, where each member exhibits art from their district. Representative Nunn expressed his excitement about showcasing the talent of Iowa’s high school students and participating in this long-standing tradition.
The competition is open to all Iowa Third Congressional District high school students. A panel of judges will review each artwork submission and select a winner. The winning piece of art will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for a year, and the winner will be flown to Washington, D.C., to attend the official art show opening.
Three winning art pieces will also be selected for the People’s Choice Award and displayed in Rep. Nunn’s offices. This competition provides an excellent opportunity for young artists to display their creativity and represent their state’s culture and talent.
