(Ames) Iowa State’s women’s basketball team defeated BYU, 74-49, on Saturday evening at Hilton Coliseum with Audi Crooks breaking the freshman season scoring record with 18 points.
Crooks made 8 of 12 from the field and passed Megan Wilson’s 1997-98 record of 460 points, ending the season with a total of 476 points.
The Cyclones never trailed in the game and improved to 16-10 overall and 10-6 in Big 12 action.
Emily Ryan led the Cyclones with 22 points, making 8-of-14 field goal attempts and 4-of-6 behind the arc, while Hannah Belanger finished with 17 points.
Lauren Gustin led BYU with 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Amari Whiting added 16.
The Cyclones broke open the game with a 15-0 run at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter, extending the lead to as many as 28 points.
