(Geneva, Ohio) Former Atlantic Track and Field standout Gratt Reed, a two-time outdoor All-American at the University of Iowa, finished fifth in the 200-meter and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles at the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Geneva, Ohio, last weekend.
In the 200-meter race, Reed clocked in at 21.08 seconds, while he completed the 60-meter hurdles in 7.78 seconds. This season, Reed’s indoor highlights include a third-place finish with a season-best time of 20.82 seconds in the 200 meters at the Jarvis Scott Open, which ranks fourth all-time indoors at Iowa. He also won the 200 meters at Larry Wieczorek Invite (21.49) and recorded his best time of 7.77 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic and Iowa Open.
Reed’s contribution to the Hawkeye’s Track and Field program has been immense, with him ranking highly on the ladder of top Iowa Hawkeye Track and Field Outdoor performances. He was a 2023 NCAA Finalist of the 4×100 meter relay team with the fastest time in school history. He is first all-time as a member of the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, fifth all-time in the Sprint Medley Relay, and fifth all-time in the 110 Meter Hurdles (13.50), with the sixth fastest time in Hawkeye Track Field history in the 200 Meters (20.54).
The NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled to be held in Boston, Massachusetts, from March 6 to March 9.
