David “Butch” Max Reynolds, the son of Silas and Mable (Weston) Reynolds, was born February 17, 1941, in Pottawattamie County near Elliott, IA. He passed away on February 18, 2024, at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, IA, at the age of 83 years and 1 day.
Butch graduated from Elliott High School with the class of 1959. After graduating, he lived and worked in Omaha for a short time. He returned to Elliott where he worked for S & M Oil Company. In the mid-1970s, Butch started Reynolds Plumbing and Heating. Butch continued to live in Elliott until last March when he moved to the Griswold Care Center.
Butch enjoyed going on River City Roundup, fishing, camping, going to air shows, and riding in the helicopter with Larry Turner. He had been on the Elliott Fire Department, where he had served as assistant chief. He especially loved going to his grandchildren’s activities and spending time with them.
Butch is preceded in death by his infant children: Barbara Ann, Judy Kay, and Jane Marie; his parents; and his siblings: Ed, Caroline, Gail, Lyle, Elmer, and Denny.
He is survived by his children: David Reynolds and special friend Angie Magers of Elliott, IA, Amy Bechen and husband Steve of Moville, IA, Robert “Bobby” Reynolds and wife Nancy of Atlantic, IA, and Julie Vrba and husband Brian from Red Oak, IA; his grandchildren: Jordan, Blaire, Cheryl, Dylan, Baylee, KayLynne, Garrett, Alexes, Jordan, Haley, Grant, and Ashton; his great grandchildren: Zane, Owen, Addy, Ella, Kase, Avery, Brantley, Thea, Dani, Weston, Easton, Ledger, and one on the way; his brother Les Reynolds of Omaha, NE; his sisters, Karen Milner of Elliott, IA, and Patty Vestal and husband Chuck of Emerson; his sisters-in-law Mary Reynolds of Omaha, NE, and Janis Reynolds of Omaha, NE; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Elliott Church of Christ, on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery at Elliott. Visitation with the family will be at the Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5-7 PM. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family.
