(Guthrie Center, IA) – With the girl’s basketball season winding down, the ACGC Chargers are only looking to charge ahead. Despite falling to Coon Rapids-Bayard last Thursday, they pulled out a big win on Friday, beating Pleasantville 66-11. This team is back to business and it’ll be hard for any other team to clock them out.
Looking ahead, the Chargers will be taking on the Madrid Tigers for a rematch after the Chargers came out on top 51-11 in January. While the Chargers earned a big victory, Madrid is staying close with some of the state’s top teams, including #3 Des Moines Christian, as the Tigers led 28-25 at the half.
With the end of the season comes senior night to honor all the seniors who have made ACGC basketball so special. In between games, they will be honoring Kelsey Carlson, Emerson Van Meter, Reagan Carney, and Macy Schreck who have pushed ACGC’s program to such a successful level.
Tuesday’s game is the last game of the regular season for the Chargers. ACGC has taken a step back to see what lies ahead for them in regionals. They’ll have to continue to push forward when they take on Woodward-Granger on February 13th in the second round of regional action.
ACGC hosts Madrid on Tuesday for their senior night with the opening tipoff at 6:00 p.m. KSOM 96.5 will be live with a video-only broadcast on Western Iowa Today TV with Zach Collins and Austin West on the call.
