(Oakland, IA) – The Riverside Bulldogs qualified for the IHSAA Class 1A Regional Duals, but unfortunately came out slow on Tuesday as Wapsie Valley beat the Bulldogs 59-15. Riverside Head Coach Casey Conover has been working this week with his boys to come out fast and aggressive, especially when it comes to this weekend.
Taven Moore (150) and Kellen Oliver (120) have been two of the top wrestlers for the Bulldogs this season. These two are quick on the mats and are confident in what they can achieve.
Coach Conover emphasized that he wants to see some minor tweaks and improvements before they host regionals on February 10th. The matches on Saturday at Lewis Central will be crucial for Riverside as these will help the Bulldogs utilize their strengths especially with some tough competition against Harlan, Lewis Central, Shenandoah, St. Albert, and Underwood.
Riverside will travel to Lewis Central for the duals on Saturday which will start at 10:00 a.m. They will then host the Class 1A District 9 Regional on February 10th, in which KSOM 96.5 will be providing all the live coverage with updates on 96.5 KSOM and on our Facebook page at KSOM Sports.
