(San Diego, CA) – The Iowa Hawkeyes weren’t able to come out with a turkey dinner as they dropped the goose 79-67 to Oklahoma. Iowa is now 3-3 with the Sooners as their win streak was snapped for the first time since playing in 1987 in the NCAA Tournament.
Iowa was led by freshman Owen Freeman as he led with 13 points and seven rebounds. Behind him was Ben Krikke with 11 points followed by Payton Sandfort with 10 points and seven rebounds. Iowa shot just 35.8% from the field and 17.4% from the three-point line. The big key to the loss was turnovers as the Hawkeyes had 13 versus the Sooners’ eight. Speaking of Oklahoma, the Sooners were led by Jalon Moore as he had 18 points and five rebounds in the game. Javian McCollum had 14 points alongside Otega Oweh with 13 points.
The Hawkeyes are now 3-2 this season as they have dropped two of their last three games. Iowa will look to get back in the winning column tomorrow, November 24th when they take on Seton Hall.
