(Estero, FL) – The Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team won two straight as they capitalized on their 98-59 win over Purdue Fort Wayne. Head coach Lisa Bluder is now just two wins away from 500 victories at Iowa.
Leading in the game for the Hawkeyes was Caitlin Clark as she had 29 points and eight rebounds. Clark moves up to 2,901 career points as she passed Jess Kovatch and Maddy Siegrist for 9th in NCAA Division I history. She needs just 63 assists to surpass Sam Logic to be Iowa’s leader in assists. Behind her was Sharon Goodman with 16 points and three rebounds. Hannah Stuelke also earned 13 points and eight rebounds, just short of a double-double. Gabbie Marshall surpassed the 200 mark in both steals and three-pointers as she hit two threes and had two steals.
On the opposite side, Amellia Bromenschenkel earned 16 points and six rebounds while putting on two assists. Erin Woodson also helped out in the scoring column with 12 points and four rebounds. They shot just 31% from the field and 31% from the three.
The Hawkeyes will take on Bowling Green this upcoming Saturday, November 25th at 12:30 p.m.
