(Creston) Creston moves to 6-0 with a 39-0 win over Atlantic in a Class 3A District 6 Football game at Atlantic on Friday night.
Cael Turner has thrown 20 touchdown passes this season; five came against the Trojans on Friday. Turner fired two TD throws to Josh Schaefer and one each to Brandon Briley, Brennan Hayes, and Case Dryden.
Turner capped off their opening drive with a touchdown strike to Dryden with 7:47 left in the first quarter, and Brennan Hayes put his (4.53) 40-yard speed on display with a 65-touchdown run. Both PATs failed, and Creston led 12-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Creston’s stingy defense kept the Trojans running game under wraps while countering with some big plays. Hayes caught a 40-yard touchdown pass, and Briley hauled another in from 20 yards out, and the visitors led 26-0 at the break.
Creston wide-out Josh Schafer rounded out the scoring in the second half with TD grabs of one and thirteen yards.
Creston piled up 470 yards of offense. Turner went 20-35 for 278 yards and the Panthers rushed for another 192.
Atlantic was held to 57 yards of offense, 39 rushing, 18 yards passing.
Perry travels to Atlantic next Friday night. Creston hosts Knoxville.
