(Defiance) Three people were hurt, including one child in a two-vehicle crash in Shelby County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 4:40 p.m., Friday, on Highway 59 north of F16. Authorities identified the injured persons as; 19-year old Evan Edwards of Council Bluffs, 46-year old Ryan Wheatley of Spirit Lake, and an eight-year-old child.
According to the report, a southbound 2014 Dodge Avenger driven by Evan Edwards entered the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a northbound 2015 GMC Sierra driven by Ryan Wheatley. Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch.
Life Net transported Edwards to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Defiance Rescue transferred Wheatley and the eight-year-old child to Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.
The accident remains under investigation.
