(Audubon) Some members of the Iowa State Patrol appeared at the Audubon High School on Wednesday morning. Iowa State Patrol Trooper and crash reconstructionist Nick Henkle demonstrated to the Audubon High School Physics class how Troopers use physics in real-world scenarios.
Trooper Henkle says the demonstration also showed the importance of wearing seatbelts and driving the speed limit. He says the students seemed to get a lot out of the demonstration. Henkle on the student’s reaction to the demonstration.
A forensic investigation of a car crash is based on collision physics by measuring the masses of the cars and the distance they slid together and accounting for drag forces.
