(Audubon) Audubon enters week 4 on the heels of a solid performance over Fremont-Mills last Friday night. The Wheelers piled up 335-yards on the ground and 84 yards passing in the 63-20 win. Audubon squares off against Exira/EHK this Friday night. The Wheelers enter the game with a 3-0 record. Exira/EHK is 2-1.
Audubon Head Coach Sean Birks says the key will be stopping Spartans quarterback Trey Petersen.
Coach Birks says there are other players to key on, including Tyler Kingery.
Birks says the key for his team on Friday night is to start fast.
Last week Audubon did a good job of keeping drives alive. Birks says they came out of the gate with a ten-play drive and fumbled the football, but after that put together many 7-play drives, which for the Wheelers is a lot. Birks said the offense did a good job of staying ahead of the sticks and limiting the second, third, and long situations.
The Wheelers finished five of seven on third-down conversions and came away with 24 first downs, with five on third down and once on fourth down.
The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. on the hill in Exira.
