(Council Bluffs) A driver suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Council Bluffs.
Police say the accident happened at around 3:11 p.m. on Monday at Vets Highway and S. 24th Street.
According to the preliminary investigation and eastbound 2016 Honda CRV preparing to make a left turn to the north on S 24th Street. The Honda and a semi proceeded into the intersection when the light was yellow, and the Honda pulled in front of the semi, causing the collision. Rescue crews transported the driver of the Honda to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. No one else suffered injuries in the crash.
The Council Bluffs Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the accident. The names of the drivers involved in the accident will not be released at this time.
