(Greenfield) The Greenfield City Council on Tuesday swore in a new City Councilman.
Greenfield City Clerk Becky Haase says Jeff Clayton takes over for Joshua Nelson, who resigned last month.“Jeff Clayton previously served on the Council to fill another vacated seat, and agreed to serve again,” said Haase.
Jeff Clayton will occupy the seat for the remainder of Joshua Nelson’s term, which is up at the end of this year.
In other business, the City Council approved the street closings for two sizable auctions scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on June 5th And June 26 in West Iowa, between the Public Square and West 2nd Street.
The Council approved paying for firefighters’ physicals. The City is with IMWCA for worker compensation insurance, and it’s one of the requirements. The City Council did not include the fees in the original budget.
