(Atlantic) Atlantic 800 meter runner Craig Alan Becker is making his third appearance at the Drake Relays today.
The senior appeared in the 4×800 Meter Relay and qualified for the elite 800 Meter field as a sophomore. The senior qualified for this year’s race with a time of 1:59.97. Becker ran that season-best time at the Swede Johnson Relays in Harlan on April 13.
“We’re hoping that he can run a personal best that would be icing on the cake,” said Atlantic Head Coach Abby Becker. “We’re flirting with a 1.58.0, 1:57, and maybe a 1:56, we’ll just have to see what he does. It’s all going to be about he goes out, the complexity of the race, and what he has in the tank at the end.”
The girls 800 Meter Sprint Medley Relay starts the day off at 9:00 a.m., and the 800 Meters is scheduled for 2:08 p.m.
