A private family funeral service will be held for 94-year old Mardell M. Hansen of Audubon, formerly of Exira, at a later date, with burial in the Exira Cemetery in Exira. Open visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira. The family will not be present for the visitation.
Mardell is survived by her daughters; Joyce and her husband Doug Taggart for Audubon, and Linda and her husband Russ Joyce of Atlantic. Four grandchildren, Dina and husband Darren Gibbons of Ankeny, Jamie, and wife Karyn Joyce of Atlantic, Ian, and wife Mary Joyce of Kansas City, Missouri, and Adam and wife Jennifer Joyce of Madison, Wisconsin. Eight great-grandchildren; Ellis Gibbons and Leighton Gibbons from Ankeny, Nickolas Joyce and Emma Joyce from Des Moines, Milo Joyce, Kansas City, Missouri, Frejia Joyce, Finely Joyce, and Thea Joyce from Madison, Wisconsin, her brother Dallas Munch of Exira, and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Munch of Exira, and nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Kessler Funeral Home in Exira is in charge of the arrangements.
