Harlan 11, Shenandoah 1
Harlan and Atlantic are the lone Hawkeye 10 unbeatens after the Cyclones topped the Fillies. Julia Schechinger had two hits and an RBI, Emily Brouse hit a pair of doubles, Kate Heithoff hit two singles, and Ella Plagman had a single and two RBI. Brouse gave up three hits, no walks, and one earned run in four innings pitched with 7 K’s. Tianna Kasperbauer gave up no hits, no walks, no runs, and struck out one batter in one inning.
Griswold 9, Sidney 7
Makenna Askeland hit her first home run. It was a three run shot in the first inning. Jenna Reynods hit a double. Askeland and Anna Kelley both had sacrifice fly’s. Haylee Pennock had a hit and two RBI. Additional hits came from Kacey Danker, Kelley, and Brenna Rossell. The Tigers advance to the finals on Friday to face Stanton. The game will be played at Essex at 5:30 p.m.
Bedford 5, Nodaway Valley 4
8th grade catcher Lindsey Davis went deep for a solo home run. Maddax DeVault connected on a double and drove in two runs. Corinne Bond, Reagan Weinheimer, and McKynna Newbury all had a single. All five of Bedford’s runs came in the bottom of the 7th. Bailey Kuster pitched six shutout innings before running into trouble in the final frame.
IKM-Manning 18, Audubon 15
The game featured 31 combined hits. Audubon had 15 of them. Kali Irlmeier went 3/5. Finishing with two hits were Jordan Porsch, Leah Subbert, Katelyn Nielsen, Kylee Hartl, and Mallory Riebhoff. Others with a hit were Johanna Sauers and Sydney Beymer. Porsch drove in a team best three runs.
Atlantic 12, Glenwood 1
Kennedy Goergen drove in six runs in a 3/4 performance with two singles and a double. Madison Botos posted a team high four hits. Reagan Pellett went 3/4 with a double and an RBI. Alyssa Derby and McKenzie Waters each had two hits. Olivia Engler gave up only two hits in six innings. She walked none and struck out nine. Engler drops her season ERA to 1.43.
