Jane Yvonne Dyson, the daughter of Tommy and Velma (McDermott) Fell, was born July 21, 1947, in Atlantic, IA. She died at her home, on June 24, 2020, at the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 3 days.
Jane attended school at Walnut, graduating from Walnut High School with the class of 1965. She then attended Northwest Missouri State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English, with a minor in speech. After graduating, she moved to Carson, where she taught at CM High School. On July 19, 1980, Jane was united in marriage to Dale Dyson, at the Carson United Methodist Church. Three children were born to this union: Angela, James, and Heather. Jane taught for many years before retiring.
Jane was a member of the Carson United Methodist Church, where she had been active in the UMW. Jane was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Carson Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Delta Kappa Gamma, and had been a Girl Scout leader.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dale; her parents; and her in-laws, Robert and Zedith Dyson.
Jane is survived by her children: Angela Dyson of Carson, IA, James Dyson of Red Oak, IA, and Heather Dyson of Macedonia, IA; her grandchildren, Nick Colvin of Oakland, IA, and Hannah Beebe of Carson, IA; her great granddaughter Gemma Cross; her brothers, Jeff Fell and wife Peggy of Deer Creek, MN, Bill Fell and wife Laurie of Avoca, IA, and Brett Fell of Fort Collins, CO; her brother-in-law Kenneth Dyson of Carson, IA; and her sister-in-law, Reta Locke and husband Danny of Paola, KS. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM, at the Carson United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service. Social distancing will be encouraged. Interment will be at a later date. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
