The Trojans stay undefeated in the Hawkeye Ten and move to 7-1 overall. They’ve scored in double figures in six of their seven wins. Maleana Woodward hit a home run for a second straight night. Lauren Nicholas went 4/5 with two doubles and four RBI in the 13-8 win. Atlantic has a big stretch ahead with games against Glenwood, Treynor, and fellow league unbeaten Harlan in their next three outings. Along with Atlantic and Harlan, Shenandoah is also undefeated in conference play.
Harlan 8, Lewis Central 3
Emily Brouse registered the pitching win with nine K’s over four innings. She gave up three hits, no walks, and one unearned run. Tianna Kasperbauer closed it out over the final three innings with three K’s, no walks, three hits allowed, and two runs allowed (one earned). Julia Schechinger posted a single and a two run double. Madison Schumacher belted a two run homer in the 4th among her two hits. Brouse went deep on a solo shot in the 6th.
Exira-EHK 11, Glidden-Ralston 1
Alisa Partridge and Mollie Rasmussen each had a single and a double while Shay Burmeister contributed two singles. Kami Waymire went 1/2 with a pair of walks. The team earned eight free passes in the win. Macy Emgarten allowed only three hits and struck out five with no walks in the five inning contest.
Riverside 4, Underwood 3
Meghan Reed’s sac fly in the bottom of the 7th scored Ashlynn Amdor for the winning run. Kenna Ford went 3/4. Skye Bentley was 1/2. Ford racked up nine K’s in the circle as Riverside stays unbeaten in the WIC. Maddie Pierce and Ella Pierce were each 2/4 for Underwood and combined for three RBI.
Audubon 4, Logan-Magnolia 2
Audubon stays hot with 3rd win the last four games. They are 5-3 overall. Jordan Porsch went 2/3. Katelyn Nielsen had a double and an RBI while Kali Irlmeier and Johanna Sauers each drove in one run. Irlmeier gave up seven hits, one walk, two earned runs, and struck out four batters in seven innings pitched.
Lenox 13, Nodaway Valley 3
Nodaway Valley moves to 4-5 on the season with the loss. Reagan Weinheimer and Maddax DeVault each had two singles. Aubrey Van Otterloo struck a single and a double. Corinne Bond and McKynna Newbury came up with singles. DeVault drove in two runs.
Griswold 15, Tri-Center 3
A six run 1st inning set the tone. The early runs came on one hit, five walks, and two errors. Anna Kelley ripped a home run. Kacey Danker and Brenna Rossell each finished with two hits and three RBI. Additional hits came from Jenna Reynolds, Dakota Reynolds, and Haley Pennock.
