Audubon 4, Missouri Valley 2
Audubon scored a run in the 6th to tie it and two runs in the 7th for the win. Joel Klocke allowed four hits and one earned run over seven innings. The junior walked one and struck out six. Skyler Schultes was 2/4 with a double while Gavin Smith and Joel Klocke also had multi-hit games.
CAM 2, Coon Rapids-Bayard 1
CAM held off a late threat from the Crusaders to win a huge Rolling Valley Conference matchup. CR-B put runners at 2nd and 3rd in the final frame, but only managed one run out of it. Cade Ticknor got a clutch strikeout to end the game. He allowed just three hits and one walk on the game while striking out seven including all three outs in the 7th. Kolby Nelson singled in the 1st inning and was driven in by Lane Spieker. Spieker doubled and scored in the 6th. Following a past ball he came in on a Colby Rich sacrifice.
Harlan 2, Denison-Schleswig 0
Alex Monson pitched six innings of no-hit ball and allowed two walks. Monson fanned three batters before handing the ball off to Joey Moser for a scoreless 7th inning. Monarch starter Evan Turin stuck out nine batters, but takes the loss as he allowed five Harlan hits. Connor Bruck went 2/3 while Cade Sears, Luke Musich, and Trey Gross all had one hit.
Sidney 22, Griswold 12
Derek Mueller went 3/3 and is now leading the state in batting average at .875. Monday night Mueller had a single, double, triple, and a walk. Colton Turner notched a single and a double while Cale Swain smacked a triple. Others with hits for Griswold were Sam Olson, Zander Luft, and Alex Rush. The Tigers held an 8-3 lead early in the game, but Sidney’s 10 run 5th inning was the difference.
SW Valley 12, Nodaway Valley 9
Nathan Russell led the Nodaway Valley offense with three of their nine hits. Russell and Matthew Weber each drove in two runs. Weber had two hits while Mason Menefee, Caelen DeVault, Michael Britten, and Mason Mather all had one hit.
Treynor 12, Riverside 1
Tyler Reed drove in Eddie Vlcek in the 5th inning for Riverside’s only run. Treynor gained separation in the 4th when they scored eight times. Rhett Bentley, Ethan Reicks, Wyatt Hough, and Vlcek all had hits for the Bulldogs.
