Kailey Jones had a career high 29 points. Claire Denning notched 15 points while Kinsey Scheffler scored 14 and had a big night on the boards. The Lady Vikes utilized a 21-0 stretch at the end of the first quarter to take control.
CAM 56, Paton-Churdan 34
The Cougars improve to 8-2. Zoey Baylor had 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals. Marissa Spieker scored 14 points along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 steals. Sammi Jahde and Allison Spieker each scored 8.
Griswold 56, Heartland Christian 40
The Tigers notch their first win of the season with four players in double figures. Josie Mundorf was 6/9 from the field and scored 12 points. Mikala Pelzer, McKenna Wiechman, and Kalainee Teaney all scored 11. Teaney (14) and Pelzer (12) combined to pull in 26 rebounds. Hope Ogg posted 4 steals.
Nodaway Valley 69, Shenandoah 63
Reagan Weinheimer led the Wolverines with 18 points, 16 of which came in the 2nd half. Alyssa Davis scored 12, Corinne Bond 11, and Lexi Shike 10. Nodaway Valley goes to 9-1 on the year.
Boys
AHSTW 57, Tri-Center 54
AHSTW didn’t get much breathing room until the fourth when Joey Cunningham came up with some clutch 3’s. He had all 13 of his points in the 2nd half. Sam Porter scored 11. Clayton Akers and Michael Mantell each had 10. Tri-Center got 15 points out of Ethan Alfers.
CAM 69, Paton-Churdan 50
After allowing 27 points in the first quarter and trailing by 13, CAM allowed just 23 points the rest of the night. Nathan Hensley had 13 points and Colby Rich scored 12. 10 each came from Connor McKee and Ethan Arp. Coach Nick Hodges says the bench was huge in the second quarter.
Nodaway Valley 54, Shenandoah 48
Toby Bower made 5 3-pointers and scored 21 points for the 6-3 Wolverines. Clay Hohertz added 13 points and 8 boards. Nodaway Valley erased a 12-4 deficit at the end of one quarter with a 17-9 second quarter advantage.
Riverside 45, Logan-Magnolia 42
Aiden Bell and Brogan Allensworth each had 12 points. Allensworth added 10 rebounds. Drake Woods was 2/3 beyond the arc and scored 10 for the 3-7 Bulldogs. Riverside is 2-1 after the holiday break.
