(Guthrie Center, IA) — The Guthrie County Supervisors decided to appoint a new County Attorney on June 9.
In last week’s meeting, the supervisors wanted to appoint a new county attorney as soon as possible after the resignation of Dana Minteer. However, that resignation is not effective until May 31; June 2nd is the primary and the supervisors will not be meeting on that date; County Auditor Dana Fink explains
The Supervisors voted to re-publish on June 4 that the County Attorney’s position will be appointed on June 9.
In addition, the Supervisors approved the 2026 Joint Drainage Assessments with Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Greene and Webster Counties and set the interest rate on stamped warrants at 6 percent.
The board also accepted bids for a bridge replacement project and only one was submitted — it will be evaluated and acted on at the next meeting.
