The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and the Iowa High School Athletic Association have announced the Cross Country State Qualifying Meet assignments for next week. Class 3A and 4A races will be run on Wednesday, October 21 and the Class 1A and 2A races will be on Thursday, October 22. Start times for all races will be 4 pm.
Atlantic will be going to Glenwood to compete with ADM, Bishop Heelan, Carroll, Creston, Denison Schleswig, Harlan, Le Mars, MOC Floyd Valley, Sioux Center, and Sgt. Bluff Luton.
Southwest Valley will be a Class 1A host with AC/GC, Bedford, Central Decatur, Diagonal, East Mills, Essex, Fremont Mills, Heartland Christian, Lamoni, Lenox, Logan Magnolia, Mormon Trail, Mount Ayr, Sidney, St. Albert, Stanton and Tri Center.
Panorama will also be a Class 1A host with AHSTW, Ar-We-Va, CAM, Des Moines Prep, East Union, Exira EHK, IKM Manning, Madrid, Manson NW Webster, Missouri Valley, MVAOCOU, Newell Fonda, Nodaway Valley, West Monona, Westwood, Woodbine and Woodward Academy.
Riverside will be going to Holstein Country Club hosted by Ridge View.
Treynor will be a host in Class 2A with Clarinda, Grand View Christian, Greene County, I-35, Kuemper Catholic, OABCIG, PCM, Pella Christian, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Underwood, West Central Valley, and Woodward Granger.
From each of the class 2A, 3A and 4A state qualifying meets, the first three teams, plus the first 15 individual place winners will qualify for the state meet. The first two teams, plus the first 10 individual place winners will qualifying for the state meet from each of the class 1A state qualifying meets.
The state meet in Fort Dodge is split over two days, with 1A and 2A racing on Friday, October 30 following by 3A and 4A races on Saturday, October 31.
Scheduling between state qualifying and the state meet is to accommodate IGHSAU regional volleyball dates.
The IHSAA and IGHSAU do not charge admission for state qualifying meets. Host sites may apply parking fees.
