(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing this (Wednesday) morning on the final plans for the NW 20 Grand River box culvert project.
During the hearing, the Supervisors and County Engineer were asked to confirm whether the project had been included in the county’s five-year secondary roads construction plan. The County Engineer stated that the project was not included in the five-year program because it is not required to be.
A second question asked how this project had been prioritized at a high enough level to move ahead of other county road projects.
Supervisor Matt Wedemeyer responded…
One adjacent property owner stated that they are fully in support of the project.
Following the public hearing, the board approved a resolution granting final approval and confirming the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated total cost for the NW20 Grand River box culvert project.
County Engineer Nick Kauffman said he received two bids for the project. Gus Construction submitted the low bid of $272,585.80, which came in below the estimated cost. The Supervisors approved the bid.
