(Creston) Creston hosts Carroll this Friday night in a Class 3A District #6 football game. Carroll is 5-1 overall and tied with Atlantic at 2-0 in district play. Creston Head Coach Brian Morrison says they knew Carroll would be a favorite to win the district with all of last year’s players returning.
The Tigers are led by all-state running back Adam Malik, who rushed for 1,072 yards and averaged 8.2 yards per carry. The first-team Class 3A all-state back rushed for just over 1,500 yards last year.
The Panthers have plenty of weapons. Tanner Ray ranks second in Class 3A with 24 touchdowns and 14 passing touchdowns. Ray leads Class 3A in passing yards with 1,424 yards. Coach Morrison talks about the opportunity to play a highly rated Carroll squad this Friday night.
The Tigers have scored on the first play of the game for the past two weeks. Morrison says that has to stop if they want to be successful.
Creston has posted big numbers this season: 45 points against Clarinda, 56 against Winterset, and 42 against Glenwood.
The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night at Creston.
