(Greenfield, IA) — Nodaway Valley hosted a cross country meet on Monday and the hometown Wolverines won the boys meet while Treynor took home the girls title.
Nodaway Valley and St. Albert ran away from the rest of the competition taking home 9 of the top 11 places. The Wolverines won with 32 points while the Falcons were 2nd with 35.
Aiden Gaul of St. Albert was the winner at 16:39.88 while Gabe Winkelmann of NV was 2nd at 16:44.84. Jackson Walter of the Falcons finished 3rd (16:53.26). Isaiah Wheeldon of MSM was 4th (17:02.99). Ben Thompson of St. Albert rounded out the top 5 (17:29.25.
The Wolverines took home 6th through 9th with Josh Nelson (17:28.60), Haden Colton (17:47.03), Paul Kading (17:51.03) and Luke Kading (17:52.41).
Cole Alff of Treynor finished 12th (18:18.69) — the Cardinals were 6th. Carson Tigges of West Central Valley was 13th (18:39.10) and the Wildcats were 5th.
Brody Truman of Southwest Valley was 50th (22:12.39) — there were 82 total runners.
For the girls race, the Cardinals won over I-35 21-62. Lily Miller of Treynor was the winner (18:45.18) finishing over 20 seconds ahead of 2nd place Summer Isley of Pleasantville (19:05.73). Treynor also took 3rd and 4th places with Madelyn Kerkmann (19:33.47) and Anne Miller (19:56.57). Allison Hannan of St. Albert (20:09.29) rounded out the top five.
Abigail Nelson of Nodaway Valley was 9th (21:20.17). Jackie McIntyre of West Central Valley finished 21st (23:18.14). Rylie Meader of Southwest Valley was 37th (25:58.93). There were 51 girls runners
