(Atlantic) The Atlantic Rock Island Society Enterprise (ARISE) will hold an open house at the Armory, 201 Poplar Street, in Atlantic on Saturday, October 10th.
The open house will run from 7 to 8 p.m. and will follow the Atlantic Fireman’s Parade.
Visitors can tour the Armory’s completed renovations and learn about future plans. The building includes a Military Museum, Military Library, Memorial Hall (available for rentals), and a kitchen area.
Visitors can also climb the stairs to the Drill Floor, which ARISE describes as its biggest challenge.
Soup will be available to those who stop by.
ARISE’s mission is to preserve the past and enrich the future. The organization owns the American Legion Memorial Building, also known as the Armory, and the Rock Island Depot, home to the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce.
