(Atlantic) Healthy Cass County’s October meeting will focus on Food Equity: Making Healthy Food Accessible to All.
Community members, organizations, businesses, schools, food producers, and other local partners are invited to join the conversation on Monday, October 12, at noon at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic.
Grace McAfee, Community Wellness Coordinator, said the meeting will take a closer look at the barriers that can make it difficult for individuals and families to access nutritious food. Those barriers can look different for everyone. For some, cost may be the biggest challenge. For others, it may be transportation, knowing where to find resources, limited access to fresh foods nearby, or simply having the time and tools needed to prepare healthy meals.
Community members are encouraged to attend and share their perspectives. Attendees are also welcome to extend this invitation to others who might find interest in this topic.
