(Woodbine, IA) — Exira EHK’s Lexi Brown and Michelle Wilson finished one and two in the Rolling Valley Conference Cross Country Meet held in Woodbine on Monday. The Woodbine boys won the RVC meet on their home course.
Brown — only a freshman — won with a time of 20:40.20, a full 4 minutes ahead of her teammate Wilson at 24:43.92. Micayla Lillard of CAM — another freshman — was third at 24:55.51. Addisyn Bandow of IKM Manning was 4th (25:13.19) and Malone Morgan of Boyer Valley rounded out the top five (25:39.82).
IKM Manning and Exira EHK were the only two schools that qualified for the team standings and they tied with 28 points — the Wolves won the tiebreaker with their 6th runner in 10th while the Spartans only have five runners in the field.
On the boys side, the Tigers went 1 and 2 with Aiden Summerfield winning at 18:11.57, almost a full 10 seconds ahead of his teammate Brody Cogdill at 18:21.38. Boyer Valley took home 3rd and 4th with Dane Gorham (18:57.45) and Owen Cogdill (19:31.89). Akeo Maynard of IKM Manning was 5th (20:06.12).
Landon McKnight of CAM was 6th (20:13.58). Jack Lassek of Exira EHK was 16th (23:32.84).
Woodbine won the team title with 30 points; Boyer Valley 2nd with 34; IKM Manning 3rd with 71; and Exira EHK rounded out the field with 90.
