(Harrison County) Harrison County Sheriff’s officials have released details about an incident near Persia Thursday morning.
According to the press release, the Harrison County Dispatch Center received a call at 11:03 a.m. on October 1, reporting that someone may have driven a vehicle into a washed-out section of roadway on 296th Street, just west of Persia. The report involved an unaccounted-for person.
Authorities found significant roadway damage near a culvert, creating a large void across the traveled portion of the road. Officials believe the damage occurred early Thursday morning after heavy overnight rainfall.

Deputies searched the waterway, identified as Spring Creek, and removed the vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.
