(Coon Rapids, IA) — Coon Rapids Bayard has won five in a row since their week zero loss to #10 Kingsley Pierson but the schedule gets more difficult today as #3 Woodbine comes calling.
Last week in a 48-2 win over Ar-We-Va, Caden Oswald was named the GG Harris KSOM Athlete of the Week scoring 5 touchdowns — 3 on offense and 2 punt returns for scores. But on defense the Rockets tried to get outside and attacked Oswald on the corner but the Senior responded with 9 tackles, 8 solo. Crusaders Head Coach Nathan Lindsay says their defense has been like that all season long — everybody is contributing and you cannot find a weakness
The Tigers are led by future Penn St. Nittany Lion Landon Blum who has 24 catches for 534 yards and 11 TDs. Lindsay says they will try to match up with him
CRB lost to Woodbine 70-6 last year and the Tigers are more than just Blum — Senior Cal Pryor has thrown for 1,059 yards, 22 TD and 2 INT and has run for 224 yards and 7 TD. Micah Moores, Ayden Coenen and Blaine Leaders all contribute in the offense.
Caden Oswald, meanwhile, says if their defense continues to get better they can win a lot of games
#3 Woodbine is 5-0; Coon Rapids Bayard is 5-1.
