(Logan, IA) — The Logan-Magnolia Panthers are halfway through their district schedule and have a record of 1-2, but it certainly isn’t because of a lack of talent.
The Panthers could very well be playing in the toughest district in Class A, through five weeks the reloaded St. Albert Falcons and Woodbury Central Wildcats lead the pack at a perfect 4-0 and 3-0 district record respectively. After that, Logan-Magnolia is in a dog fight for third place with the likes of Akron-Westfield and the West Monona Spartans, the team that the Panthers fell short too last week 14-0. Despite the loss, Head Coach Jack West is proud of the way his team fought:
Logan-Magnolia visits IKM-Manning this week. The Wolves were 4-2 in district play last year but drew a tough opponent in the first round of postseason play in West Sioux who would go on to lose in the state semi-finals. IKM-Manning is 1-2 so far this year and started off the season playing the two current top dogs in the district in St. Albert and Woodbury Central, and West says they could be the best 1-4 team in the state:
Logan-Magnolia visits IKM-Manning in Class A District 8 action, kickoff is at 7 PM Friday night.
