(Osceola, Iowa) An Osceola, Iowa, man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup in Clarke County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 12:50 p.m. on Highway 69 and Webster Street.
According to the report, 53-year-old Douglas Scott Gooding of Mount Ayr was driving a 2019 Chevy Silverado pickup northbound on Highway 69 and attempting to turn onto Webster Street in Osceola when a southbound 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 59-year-old Larry Wayne Mongar struck the front of the pickup. The motorcycle slid on the pavement and came to rest on its side on the west sidewalk.
Authorities say Mongar suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines for treatment.
