(Pella, IA) — In a massive cross country meet, Riverside boys and some other local schools competed against some of the best teams in the state and the Bulldogs finished in 14th place out of 28 teams. Riverside was the smallest school in the field with Owen Fenner leading the way in 25th place with a time of 18:16.7.
Also for Riverside, Cruz Jaquez was 59th (19:03.1); Eli Hudnall 63rd (19:06.0); Trig Drahota 86th; Nolan Burbridge 144th; Everett Schechinger 162nd; Emmett Reed 170th. There were 587 total runners in the boys race.
Red Oak finished 18th in the team standings with Emmanuel Grass getting into the top ten in 9th place (17:41.8). Hayden Hietbring was 47th; Osiel Pedersen 71st; Manuel De Leon 138th; AJ Beeson 182nd; and Pace Chaillie 187th.
Treynor finished in 28th place out of 28 teams; Eli Yochum was the best finisher for the Cardinals in 154th.
Cole Carrizales of Prairie, Cedar Rapids was the indivdual winner at 16:56.2; Dallas Center Grimes won the team title with 86 points ahead of Pleasant Valley with 116.
On the girls side, Treynor finished in 8th place in the team standings with Lily Miller cracking the top ten in 8th place (20:13.2). Anne Miller was 50th; Madalyn Kerkmann 53rd; Irelyn Dae 63rd; Kadence Kotrous 95th; Maddy Parrot 128th and Emmagen Quick 129th.
Waukee Northwest won the team title with 66 points ahead of Pella in 2nd with 74. The Wolves Emmy Stubbenbeck was the individual winner at 19:06.4. There were 20 girls teams and 374 runners.
