(Pottawattamie Co.) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors signed a proclamation on Tuesday designating the month of September as Recovery Month.
Cindy West, Executive Director of Full Circle Recovery, said Recovery Month is an opportunity celebrate something people in the recovery community know to be true; recovery is real, recovery is possible, and recovery changes lives.
West said recovery is about much more than stopping the use of drugs or alcohol, it’s about rebuilding lives, connecting with families, finding purpose, giving back, and becoming part of the community again.
Pottawattamie County encourages residents to recognize the strength of those in recovery and help build a community where recovery is supported and celebrated.
