(Griswold, IA) — Griswold High School has a new Athletic Director for this school year — Griswold native Ryan Askeland takes over for Cole Cooper who stays with the district as a teacher and coach. As a native to Griswold, Askeland says its a sense of pride to take over the Tiger program
Askeland says participation levels are not where its supposed to be at Griswold — cross country for instance does not have any athletes this year but there are 8th graders to build on for the future in the sport. Askeland says Griswold has a great winning culture to build on
The most successful sport has been softball and the last two seasons, Griswold has shared with CAM. Askeland is not sure yet whether that sharing agreement will continue
