(Crawford Co.) One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Crawford County Monday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 30 Chamberlain Drive at 2:40 p.m. A 2015 Lexus ES 350, driven by 33-year-old Mohit Kailashchandra Sharma of Denison, turned onto Chamberlain Drive, in between the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 30. A 1990 Peterbilt semi was eastbound on Highway 30. This section of Highway 30 is a divided four-lane highway. The Lexus pulled out from Chamberlain Drive in front of the semi. The semi struck the passenger side of the Lexus.
Mohit Kailashchandra Sharma was transported to UNMC in Omaha by Lifeflight. A passenger, 29-year-old Himalkumar Mehulkumar Patel, of Denison, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
