(Neola, IA) — If there is some way that Tri Center Football Head Coach Jake Gentile (Jen-TILL-ee) can put his players in bubble wrap the entire fall, he would do it. The Trojans are coming off an injury riddled 4-5 season on the heels of a state championship run in 2024. Gentile will be the third head coach in three years after Steve Pederson had to step down after just one season at the helm. Even though last year was tough and even though he is new, Gentile says he is not going to let up in practice
One position that Gentile needs to focus on during practice is on the offensive line
Gentile likes what he has returning at the skill positions and it starts with Senior QB AJ Harder who leads by example
Tri Center is in Class 1A District 7 with Missouri Valley, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Treynor and Underwood. The Trojans open their season on Friday, August 28 at Gentile’s Alma Mater St. Albert.
