(Area) — The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association has named the All State Team for the 2026 season.
In Class 1A, Senior Cal Heydon of Coon Rapids Bayard was named Captain of the team and also named to the 2026 Super team which is tough for a 1A player. Heydon hit .545 with 7 HR and 42 RBI plus scored 68 runs, had an on base percentage of .652 and an incredible slugging percentage of 1.020. His brother Junior Ty Heydon was named First Team All State at Utility. The younger Heydon batted .593 with 8 HR and 65 RBI plus scored 48 runs; on the mound he was 6-1 with a 1.75 ERA with 88 strikeouts in 52 innings.
Macklin Loftus of Logan Magnolia was named First Team All State at Pitcher — the Sophomore allowed just one earned run all season with a 9-0 record and 0.14 ERA with 120 strikeouts in 50 1/3 innings pitched.
Lenox had two players honored in Class 1A — Senior Laramie Stoaks was named First Team All State at OF hitting .467 with 27 RBI and 31 stolen bases while Senior Dawson Evans was Second Team All State at SS hitting .495 with 4 HR and 23 RBI with 26 stolen bases and only committed 4 errors.
In Class 2A, Underwood had four players honored All State — Senior Ryker Adair was First Team at 3B, Sophomore Coltin Johnson was Second Team at 2B, Sophomore Ryan Fletcher was Third Team at Pitcher and Sophomore Blake Brensel was Third Team at Utility. Adair hit .407 with 26 RBI, scored 31 runs. Johnson hit .405 with 28 RBI. Fletcher appeared in 12 games with 8 starts and was 7-1 with a 1.28 ERA. Brensel was 5-2 with a 3.92 ERA and batted .378 with 5 HR and 34 RBI.
Treynor had two players honored in 2A — Junior Riley Lauver was Second Team at OF batting .373 while Junior Brody Larsen was Third Team at Catcher hitting .533 with 2 HR with 30 RBI. Tri Center’s Senior SS Cael Witt was named Second Team hitting .481 with 4 HR and 26 RBI. Also in 2A, Kuemper Catholic Senior Pitcher Landon Pottebaum was Third Team with a 9-1 record and 1.85 ERA and Clarinda Sophomore OF Nolan Wagoner was Third Team hitting .333.
In Class 3A, Harlan Junior Colton Schneider was selected Second Team All State at Utility. Schneider was a lockdown reliever for the Cyclones 13 appearances, a 1.42 ERA with 42 strikeouts. In the field, he played Shortstop and hit .427 with 8 HR and 47 RBI, scoring 46 runs. Creston Junior Thomas Mikkelsen was named Third Team All State at Catcher hitting .500 with 3 HR and 33 RBI.
In Class 4A, Lewis Central Sophomore SS Brooks Bond was named First Team All State hitting .505 with 7 HR and 36 RBI.
