(Oakland, IA) — The Lady Vikes saw success at home last night in a statement victory over the Treynor Cardinals 14-3 and look to carry their momentum into Riverside tonight with coverage on KSOM.
In last night’s win, it took only 4 innings for AHSTW to force the 10-run rule with Sophomore Kadence Coolidge batting in four runs and freshman Keilyn Goodman getting two base hits in the conference affair. The win puts them at a conference record of 5-9 as they close out their conference schedule this week. Coach Katie Pace says it was an exciting game for her team:
Last week, the Lady Vikes started in the win column over Underwood 12-11, however fell short to some tough conference competition with Missouri Valley winning 13-0 and IKM-Manning sweeping a doubleheader. Coach Pace says that her team was dealing with injuries at the end of the week, but is all good to go for tonight:
The Lady Vikes will surely have their hands full against the Riverside Bulldogs who are 16-4 so far this season. The club is ranked #6 in 2A and bats over .360 as a team. Coach Pace credits the long-standing winning culture that Riverside is known for:
First pitch is at 7:00p, with coverage on 96.5 FM KSOM and audio on westerniowatoday.com
