(Pottawattamie Co.) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors approved annual agreements allowing the Sheriff’s Office to continue providing law enforcement services in a dozen communities across the county.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the board authorized the chairman to sign law enforcement services contracts between Pottawattamie County and the cities of Avoca, Carson, Crescent, Hancock, Macedonia, McClelland, Minden, Neola, Oakland, Treynor, Underwood and Walnut.
The annual intergovernmental agreements allow Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s deputies to perform law enforcement duties within those cities.
During a brief discussion, Supervisor Tim Wichman noted the county needs to meet with the participating cities to update the contracts.

Following the discussion, the board unanimously approved authorizing the chairman to sign the current agreements.
