(Des Moines, IA) — The National Weather Service in Des Moines reports that Iowa could see two rounds of storms on Wednesday.
Round one is Wednesday morning with a higher certainty in storms initially occurring in north central Iowa then moving into eastern Iowa with a wind and hail threat. There is a marginal risk of excessive rain but that is west of Des Moines and a slight risk in eastern Iowa.
Round two is a possible redevelopment of storms in the afternoon. The NWS is uncertain about storm development but should storms come together Wednesday afternoon, they could pose a threat for large hail, damaging winds and possibly a tornado. The greatest risk is far southeast Iowa with an enhanced risk or Level 3 of severe weather.
Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts and be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions throughout the day tomorrow.
