(Atlantic/Stuart) Former Atlantic High School employee Jesse McCann has entered pleas of not guilty.
According to court records, McCann filed a written arraignment and plea of not guilty today to charges filed by the Stuart Police Department in May for Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee. The charges stem from allegations involving inappropriate conduct with a juvenile student that allegedly occurred approximately 10 years ago while McCann was employed by the West Central Valley Community School District.
McCann has also pleaded not guilty to charges filed by the Atlantic Police Department earlier this month for Grooming and Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee. The Atlantic Police Department reported that on January 19, 2026, it received a complaint alleging inappropriate behavior by an employee of the Atlantic Community School District. According to the complaint, Jesse McCann engaged in inappropriate contact, communication, and interactions with female students.
No trial dates have been set at this time.
