(Atlantic) The 2026 Cass County Beef Princess, Addalyn Sonntag, recently donated two large doses of canned food to the Atlantic Food Pantry. Cass County Cattlemen’s President Collene Babe tells KSOM-KS95 News that Sonntag wanted to do something for May Beef Month.
Sonntag says the idea came from her intro to Ag Class; they set out to do an end-of-the-year project to solve world hunger. Sonntag labeled her project “Beef Up Our Community.”
Sonntag produced a flyer and posted it on her social media account. Sonntag also set out baskets at the Nishna Valley Family YMCA and her church for people to bring in whatever they wanted to bring in.
Sonntag says she has enjoyed serving as the 2026 Cass County Cattlemen’s Princess.
The mission of the Atlantic Food Pantry is to provide a regular community source of nutritious supplemental food for people in Cass County experiencing food insecurity and to increase community awareness of food insecurity.
