(Atlantic) Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company is proud to announce that its production facility in Atlantic, Iowa, received the Coca-Cola President’s Cup – an award given to the producing bottler that exhibits the highest ratings across Quality, Safety, and Environmental (QSE) standards.
The President’s Cup is one of Coca-Cola North America’s highest honors across its system of bottlers.
Since 2022, Atlantic Bottling has ranked No. 1 among Coca-Cola’s producing bottlers, which comprise bottlers nationwide that operate solo production plants.
“Creating and maintaining Atlantic Bottling’s strong safety and quality culture does not happen overnight, and it does not happen without the commitment of every single one of our team members,” said Rob Feeney, Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Bottling Company. “Ten years ago, as we added new markets to our territory, we recognized the need to invest in our people, in plant upgrades, and in strong QSE oversight. Today, our teams have transformed this business by doing what it takes to create a culture shift when it comes to safety, quality, and environmental standards.”
Atlantic Bottling has undergone a significant transformation since Coca-Cola’s 2016 refranchising initiative, which expanded the company’s distribution footprint and opened new avenues for growth. From its beginnings as a two-location operation, Atlantic Bottling has grown to serve 10 locations across five states.
Over the past three years, the company has invested more than $40 million to modernize its production facility in Atlantic and reinvest in key infrastructure across all locations. Extensive upgrades and renovations have significantly increased production capacity through expanded can and bottle lines, enhanced automation, and the ability to produce up to 1 million canned beverages per day.
Atlantic Bottling’s commitment to safety and teamwork is evident in the production facility going nearly 13 years without a Lost Time Safety Incident – a record reached by very few operations in the United States. During this same period, the company expanded its workforce from 14 to 52 employees, reinforcing its role as a growing employer in rural Iowa and a positive economic contributor to the communities it serves.
“Earning the President’s Cup is recognition not of a single moment, but of the consistent focus on safety, quality, and doing things the right way, every day,” said Andy Fewson, production director. “We are so proud of our bottling team in Atlantic, and we are honored to receive this prestigious award once again.”
Founded in 1909, Atlantic Bottling Company began as a family-owned business and has grown into a leading independent Coca-Cola bottler serving communities across Iowa and Missouri. From humble beginnings with two facilities, Atlantic Bottling now operates 10 facilities, employs over 800 team members, and delivers more than 17 million cases annually. Atlantic Bottling produces canned and bottled carbonated soft drinks under the authority of Coca-Cola North America. For more information, visit atlanticbottling.com.
