(Council Bluffs) Authorities in Omaha, Nebraska, arrested two suspects Tuesday afternoon in connection with the Monday evening shooting incident in Council Bluffs. Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, authorities issued two arrest warrants for 19-year-old Jeremiah James Lassissi of Council Bluffs and 20-year-old Trent Hastings of Council Bluffs.
According to the press release, the warrants for 19-year-old Jeremiah James Lassissi were for one count of Attempted Murder, three counts of Robbery in the 1st Degree, and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. A warrant was also issued for 20-year-old Trent Hastings for one count of Attempted Murder and three counts of Robbery in the 1st Degree.
On Tuesday, at around 3:30 p.m., members of the Omaha Metro Area Fugitive Task Force located Trent Hastings and Jeremiah Lassissi at a residence near 31st Avenue and Dodge Street in Omaha. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and held at the Douglas County Jail, where they await extradition to Iowa.
At approximately 9:26pm on Monday, Council Bluffs Police Officers and Council Bluffs Fire Department Medics were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Damon Street for a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located one juvenile male with a gunshot wound to the leg. The juvenile male was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to Children’s Hospital in Omaha. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
